Brava by Anna Carreras is a generative art collection created for Bright Moments Paris, exploring the concept of fragility in code, technology, and human experience. Inspired by a transformative moment diving into the Mediterranean, Brava captures the vulnerability and beauty of existence, relationships, and systems. The name, meaning “brave” or “fierce” in Spanish, references the rugged waves of the Costa Brava while emphasizing the strength inherent in fragility.



The project centers on two overlapping waves whose interaction creates dynamic, evolving shapes, forms, and colors. A deliberately distorted algorithm drives this process, showing how small numerical changes can lead to dramatic transformations. Carreras incorporates computer vision and image processing, allowing the algorithm to analyze and adapt, embracing the fragility of systems breaking and reconfiguring.



With Brava, Carreras masterfully blends animation, technology, and concept, offering a poetic reflection on the delicate balance of complexity, vulnerability, and resilience.

Trossets explores the emergence of diversity. Combining 12 construction blocks the system generates endless patterns with a unique result each iteration. Trossets /trusɛts/ means “parts,” “blocks,” “pieces” and it’s my particular homage to a classical generative system, the multiscale Truchet tiles. The systems plays an interlocking blocks game creating unexpected drawings with colors borrowed from the Mediterranean.
