EVERYDAYS
Everydays is a long-running digital art series by Beeple that began in 2007, consisting of daily creations exploring themes of technology, humanity, and the sublime. Drawing inspiration from Romanticism, Beeple’s work echoes the awe and wonder of 19th-century landscapes by artists like Caspar David Friedrich, but reimagined through the lens of the digital age. Each piece blends surrealism, pop culture, and cyberpunk aesthetics, often with a humorous or dystopian edge. Beeple reflects on the project’s purpose, saying, “These pictures are all done from start to finish every day. The purpose of this project is to help me get better at different things. By posting the results online, I’m ‘less’ likely to throw down a big pile of ass-shit even though most of the time I still do because I suck ass.” This self-aware honesty underscores the dedication and experimentation behind the series, which has become a testament to persistence, growth, and the boundless potential of digital art. Everydays not only showcases Beeple’s evolving technical skill and creative voice but also highlights the broader possibilities of human expression and the use of technology.

Beeple’s kinetic sculptures embrace both digital video and a three-dimensional sculptural form. Emblematic of the twenty-first century and its relationship to digital technologies, the sculptures are linked to an NFT, or non-fungible token, that lives as a unique object on a blockchain, or an online decentralized ledger.
