The gravity-defying sculptures of artist Ernesto Burgos combine happenstance organic forms with gestural brushstrokes. Although he has worked with a variety of materials, even deconstructed vintage couches, Burgos primarily sculpts with cardboard and solidifies his forms using fiberglass and resin after achieving his desired shape. When this stage is complete, Burgos paints the artworks using a combination of spray paint, oil stick, lacquer, and charcoal, occasionally adding collage elements as well.
