Fanny Sanín’s prolific career has been dedicated to geometric abstraction, spanning five decades. Her methodical artistic process — meditative in nature — includes creating numerous preparatory studies and mixing her own specific hues. As a student, Sanín explored sculpture, architectural drawing, theater set design, and printmaking, but ultimately dedicated herself to painting. She believes the medium allows her to delve most deeply into pure abstraction, devoid of figurative representation, leaving color and form as her only subject matter.
