Perfectly symmetric — imperfectly drawn. Exploring the contrast between precision and chance in a playful spacecraft/papercraft setting, Paper Armada is a generative series that simulates intricately folded paper ships. Using code, Golid creates unique, layered designs with geometric precision and a tactile, origami-like quality.

Monument was inspired by the aesthetic of Brutalism, as shapes ascend like totems of concrete architecture. “Flawed, repetitive patterns have always been an interesting aesthetic to me, and where else does one find it more prominently than along the vertical facades of high-rise buildings?” asks Golid. The artist is interested in the pattern and structure of these buildings and the way in which these patterns are disrupted by the presence of people. For example, the way in which an open window or a closed curtain interrupts the architectural uniformity of a modernist high-rise building.

Archetype is a series of 600 generative NFTs created by exploring the partitioning of rectangles into smaller shapes, minted on Art Blocks in October 2021. The series balances chaos and order, with repetitive patterns emerging from seemingly random structures, creating a sense of intentionality. Inspired by minimalist aesthetics, each piece incorporates features such as shading, layout, and palette to achieve unique compositions. Archetype celebrates complexity within simplicity, blending algorithmic precision with artistic expression to create a cohesive yet dynamic collection.
