Contractions

Loie Hollowell’s first NFT project, Contractions, features 280 unique generative works inspired by her experiences with childbirth. Based on her Split Orb sculptural paintings, each NFT depicts two bifurcated orbs — representing her brain and pregnant belly. The number of NFTs in the series corresponds to the average duration of a full-term pregnancy, and the color palette ranges from vivid neon to grayscale (a color palette Hollowell had never worked in before).
