Skygolpe
Italian
Born 1986
Skygolpe is an Italian digital artist whose work explores identity, authorship, and the blurred boundaries between the physical and virtual. Since his development into NFTs, his practice now moves fluidly between digital and analog media, combining painting, photography, AI systems, and installation. Known for his faceless silhouettes and layered compositions, he uses texture and abstraction to question what remains of the “self” in an age increasingly defined by screens, data, and simulation. Working between traditional studio methods and networked technologies, Skygolpe has exhibited internationally, including projects such as Paint on Pixel at Christie’s New York and public interventions like BLACKOUT in Milan.
CTRL_ABSCENCE
CTRL_ABSENCE is a series that examines absence not as emptiness, but as an active state of transformation. Each work depicts faceless figures and collapsing digital structures, using artificial intelligence to generate images of erosion and decay. Instead of seeing collapse as destruction, the series treats it as a cycle of renewal — a reminder that everything, including identity, is always in motion. By removing the face, Skygolpe shifts attention from the individual to the process itself, turning disappearance into a form of transformation. CTRL_ABSENCE becomes a meditation on control, impermanence, and the strange beauty that emerges when systems, and selves, begin to fall apart.
