Incomplete Control

Art Blocks Collection: Presents

Heritage Art Blocks Collection: Playground

Produced for Bright Moments New York, Incomplete Control explores the concept of imperfection by merging the warmth of natural chaos with the precision of the digital world. The series challenged Hobbs to relinquish control and let the output shape a broader range of possibilities, rather than adhering to specific constraints.

Art Blocks Collection: Curated

Heritage Art Blocks Collection: Curated series 3

Released in June 2021 as a series of 999 artworks, Fidenza rapidly grew into one of the most highly regarded generative art projects to date. Each Fidenza is entirely unique, created via an algorithm designed by the artist that generates a fluid, vivid, “flow field” spanning a variety of colors, from vibrant colors to black and white or monochrome. The scale also defines the level of detail applied in the composition, dramatizing this sensation of movement. Hobbs relates his work to the system-based practices of artists like Sol LeWitt and Agnes Martin, who took similarly methodical approaches to mark-making.
